New Moon

I promised Miss C. I would take her to see New Moon. I think we are targeting Wed. night. New Moon is actually my favorite book in the series so I am looking forward to seeing it.

If you have seen it, what did you think? I love the books AND the movies.

Piggy Paint - review

Piggy Paint - Natural as Mud......

I was familiar with Piggy Paint through other bloggers. I was hoping to try it and was very pleased when I contacted the company and they agreed to send me a product. My kids loved the color and I loved the fact that it was safe for them to use. We received Girls Rule , a sparkly, iridescent Magenta.

We tried this right away and I found that it dried very quickly. For optimal hardness it is suggested that you blow dry the nails to "set" the polish or apply at night before bed (parental supervision required). From the website:

Q: Do I have to use a blow dryer to dry her nails?
A: No, but it is recommended for maximum chip resistance. Since Piggy Paint™ is water-based and does not contain harsh chemicals, it takes longer for its ultimate hardness to be reached. The blow dryer just speeds up this process.

Piggy paint is designed with kids in mind - fun colors and a non toxic formula are something both kids and parents can love!
Piggy Paint is kid friendly!
* Non-toxic - to smelly odors and no toxic chemicals!
* Low odor
* Water based formula
* dries to a hard finish.

Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover is also kid friendly:
* Low Odor
* Made from natural ingredients
* No Acetone
* Hypoallergenic
* Biodegradable

Piggy Paint is available in an array of bright, fun colors. ARV for individual bottles currently averages at $9.99. You can purchase a single bottle of polish or a preassembled , coordinating set.

Considering purchasing Pigggy Paint? Find a retail location by you or an online retailer.

Outside of receiving a bottle of piggy paint and nail polish remover to review, I did not receive any other form of compensation for this blog post. For more information on this blog and my posting practices, please refer to the disclousure policy below.

JooJoo Baby - Review

Joo Joo prints are sturdy, thick foam panels with a glossy, retro-modern print adhered to the front. The pictures are "hung" by placing and adhesive foam block to the back of the print and sticking to the wall. These can be hung individually or in groupings.

These panels are adorable - they are fun and visually stimulating. The panels come in 2 sizes - small - 8.5" and large 10.5". There are several collections and the colors are interchangeable. There are pink, blue, aqua,yellow, green, chocolate brown, and orange color themes.

Miss N. described hers (2 birds pictured above) as cute, sweet and pretty.
Miss E. was too embarrassed to describe hers because it is "going all over the internet". She does not like being interviewed for my blog LOL.

The bright colors and bold prints are appealing to baby. Even though my kids are older, they actually loved these too. We have hung ours on the door.

Here is a sample of a collage made possible with the Joo Joo Baby panels:

There are over 300 fun and unique designs! Browse over ALL PANELS here - small panels currently retail for $18.00 and large panels currently retail for $22.50 (* Picture Me and Name Me panels are slightly higher in price as these are personalized with your child's name OR photo)

ChicBuds Pinktooth Wireless Headset - Review

If you remember my Chic Buds review, you will recall at how thrilled I was with the product. I was all too pleased to review another product in the Chic Blvd Line - the Pinktooth!

The Pinktooth is a crystal adorned wireless headset. It works with any bluetooth enabled phone and installs easily. I used this with my new iphone and it set up in minutes (thanks to my husband).

We tried it out and I LOVED it. I did not have a bluetooth prior and once I tried this I thought that this was the best thing ever - plus it was pink and sparkly. What is not to love? (If you are more of a "statement" kind of gal, a white and black version is available also).

What are the fabu features of the Pinktooth?
  • clear sound,
  • comfortable inner earbuds (adjustable pieces included)
  • and light weight
  • talk time is up to 6 hours
  • Standby time: up to 200 hours.
  • Works with all bluetooth enabled cellphones,
  • Adorned with Swarovski Crystals.
  • 2 color LED
  • Rechargeable Li-Polymer Battery
  • crystal clear sound

If you are looking for a gift for the gal who has it all and loves a little glitter in her life, consider the Pinktooth! Priced at $48.00. You can order HERE.

Hickory Farms Our Storybook Gift Box - Review and Gift Guide

One of my favorite places to shop every holiday season is Hickory Farms We always had Hickory Farms growing up and I like to make sure my girls get to enjoy the great food - Hickory Farms always reminds me of celebration. We typically buy when we are having company, for holidays and special events. A few of my favorites are the beef stick, the cranberry mustard, Melt Away Mints and Cheddar blend.

I recently had the opportunity to review the Hickory Farms Our Storybook Christmas Gift Box. This Disney inspired gift set is so unique! It contains typical Hickory Farms fare (summer sausage, cheese and crackers) in addition to some holiday goodies - cookies, a Mickey Mouse cookie plate and a Disney storybook.

I would post pictures but the girls and I DEVOURED the contents of the box. We had just gotten home, it was dinner time and this fabulous gift box was waiting for us. Prior to dinner we had the crackers, sausage and cheese. We saved the cookies for the weekend.

The Disney Storybook is very cute. Miss E. has been reading it as it is a little too long for her to read on her own in one sitting. It is Disney's version of the Night Before Christmas - this is not the version you remember! It is full of antics by Mickey and friends as they celebrate holiday cheer. I am also very pleased with the plate. it is a solid porcelain plate with a cute holiday Mickey Motif.

This is a great gift because the book and plate can be incorporated easily into your Holiday traditions. Long after the food is gone, the holiday memories will remain. Every year when you pull out the Christmas decorations, including the book and the plate, you can reminisce about Christmases past! For a memorable holiday gift consider the Hickory Farms Our Storybook Gift Box.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a Hickory Farms gift basket to facilitate my review. For more information on this blog and my posting practices please refer to the disclosure policy below.

K'NEX - Review and gift guide!

The girls and I were recently able to try out K'NEX - an innovative building toy for kids.

K'NEX has designed a 400 Piece Value Tub that comes with building ideas for 20 different models and a convenient storage tub. Kids (aged 7 and up) can also use their imagination to build whatever they are inspired to create. At $20.99 ARV this is a steal!

When our K'NEX arrived the girls were very excited to try them out. Miss E. and Miss N. ripped open the package and then looked confused. Miss N. asked "What is it?" I explained that it was a building set. "Miss E." inquired "How do you use it?". We had a set of K'NEX with our older daughter so I knew exactly how to use them. I showed the girls how to connect the pieces and they jumped right in.

Miss E. but together the pieces immediately, making a car, a house, etc. Miss N. opted to make one of the models featured in the directions. Miss C. even joined in, helping Miss E. with her car. I loved that the tub was so easy to open and store pieces in. There was some arguing over who got to use what pieces, but overall we really enjoyed it. Santa should be bringing another set. (I would attach a picture but the original projects were broken down and new projects started which are not close to being finished!)

Benefits - promotes use of fine motor skills; encourages kids to be creative OR follow instructions;

If you are interested in buying K'NEX for your child, check out the PARENTS section on their website. You can find out more about K'NEX, research what is best for which age group and shop by price, age, theme or popularity. There are even educational models for math and geometry, life science, early childhood and more!

K'NEX currently has a video contest where you have the chance to win $1000 worth of toys! To find out more K'NEX click HERE. To find out more about the K'NEXion Video Contest, click HERE.

K'NEX will make a great holiday gift for the little builder in your life. Available at major retailers such as ToysRUs, Target and Walmart, it is easy to add to your shopping list!

Thank you for Team Mom for this opportunity. In addition to a K'NEX building set to review I will have my name put into a drawing for K'NEX toys. For more information on this blog and my posting practices, please refer to the disclosure policy below.

Time for Toy Shopping!

I used to be one of those shoppers that was finished by thanksgiving. Not anymore! We are so busy with the girl that this year got away from me. Plus the girls are getting older and have preferences on what they would like under the tree x-mas morning!

My main priority is making sure I provide my kids with toys that are safe, educational and fun. The independent Toy Industry Association (TIA) has launched two web sites for consumers.

· ToyInfo.org provides you with all the information you need to choose the right toys for your family. From toy safety facts to free downloadable play guides, this exciting new site is a one-stop resource for caregivers and parents to discover everything about toys and play.

· Toyawards.org lists the best toys of the year, as selected by toy industry experts. The site showcases the top toys nominated for the 2010 Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY), recognized as the “Oscars®” of the toy industry. Not only will you discover which toys the experts think are best, but for the first time, kids and parents can register for one (or more) of 12 prize packages, and can also vote for their favorite toys.

Make sure you stop by ToyInfo.org and Toyawards.org before you finalize your shopping list.

This post was created in partnership with TeamMom. As a thank you, I have an opportunity to put my name in a drawing for a toy package. I did not receive any form of compensation for this post.
